Categories of individual membership
There are four categories of ESTRO membership for individuals.
Full Membership is open to individual radiation oncology professionals worldwide (physicians, physicists, biologists and other scientists whose main field of activity is in radiation oncology) irrespective of their country of residence. Applicants must be nominated by two ESTRO members and include their CV with their application for membership. Applicants who are already member of a society pursuing the same goals as ESTRO are exempt from this requirement. Full members are entitled to all the privileges of ESTRO membership, including voting rights.
Technologist Membership is open to technologists, or those with appropriate professional training acting as technologists. With this form of membership the subscription to the journal “Radiotherapy and Oncology” is optional.
Junior Membership is open to medical doctors, physicists or biologists in specialist training in the field of radiation oncology.
Emeritus Membership is open to all retired ESTRO members and is free of charge. Emeritus members enjoy all the benefits of ESTRO membership but do not receive the journal "Radiotherapy and Oncology".
Membership fees
Membership fees cover the calendar year from 1 January to 31 December. For 2008, the following rates were approved by the General Assembly.
